Northeast Seafood Coalition
Working Together on the Future of Fisheries

     Who We Are:

The Northeast Seafood Coalition ("NSC" or "Coalition") is a non-profit, membership organization that represents commercial groundfish fishermen, shore-side businesses and fishing community supporters from mid-coast Maine to Long island, New York.

Our Mission:

The Coalition is dedicated to working with government regulation and environmental concerns to preserve the long-term health of the fishery resources, fishing communities and the fishing industry.

What We Do:

The work of the Coalition is geared toward crafting real solutions to complex fishery problems. The Coalition strives to find creative solutions that work to rebuild fish stocks while preserving small family owned fishing businesses, a diverse groundfish fleet, and fishing communities across the Northeast.

The Problem Can Be Solved:

The current regulatory environment is crippling family owned businesses and is hindering the rebuilding of fish stocks. The Coalition is currently designing a new long term management system that will rebuild stocks while preserving our small family owned businesses.

How You Can Help:

The time to help is now. Donations can be made to support the work of the Coalition to the address below. We also ask that people take the time to get to know their fishing community. It is essential that the real fisheries issues are known by all. We are available to answer any questions.
